How to convert Spotify to MP3

  1. Copy the link. In the Spotify app, tap the three dots next to a song, album or playlist, then Share and Copy link. On a computer, right-click it and choose Share, then Copy link.
  2. Paste it above. A single song starts converting straight away. An album or playlist opens as a numbered list, so you can convert every song or only the ones you want.
  3. Save the files. Each song saves on its own, or all of them at once as one ZIP. MP3 at 192 kbps is the default; choose 128 or 320 kbps, M4A or WAV before you convert.

What you get in each file

spottomp3 reads the song’s details from its Spotify page and writes them into the file: title, artists, album, track number, release date and the album cover. Music players, phones and car stereos show the song the way Spotify does, and the file is named Artist - Title.

The sound is a recording of the same song, found by matching it against Spotify’s own length, artist and title. In a test of 150 songs from Spotify’s charts and classic playlists (October 2026), every match was the right song, 144 of them the official release, and 145 within two seconds of Spotify’s length. When no recording matches closely enough, spottomp3 says so instead of saving the wrong song.

Which format and bitrate?

ChooseWhat it isGood for
MP3 192 kbpsThe default. Keeps everything the recording hasPhones, cars, MP3 players
MP3 320 kbpsA larger file of the same soundDJ software and stereos that ask for 320
MP3 128 kbpsThe smallest fileSaving space, speech
M4AThe recording’s own AAC audio, copied without a second encodeiPhone, Mac, Apple Music
WAVUncompressed 16-bit audio, about 10 MB a minuteEditing, video projects, DJ software

The recordings spottomp3 converts are AAC at around 130 kbps, so 320 kbps cannot add detail that isn’t there; it is there for software and devices that expect it.

Albums and playlists

Paste an album or playlist link and the whole list opens, numbered in Spotify’s order with each song’s length. Convert all works through it two songs at a time, and each row turns green when its file is ready. One link holds up to 100 songs, which is as many as Spotify shows on a shared list. More on playlists and albums.

How long does it take?

Opening a link takes about a second. A song then takes 15 to 30 seconds to find, convert and tag, two songs at a time; a song someone else converted in the last six hours is ready at once. On our server a nine-song album at 320 kbps took two minutes (October 2026), so a 50-song playlist takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and you can save the finished songs while the rest are still converting.
